From the pictures it actually doesn't look too bad, but I can't get the xbar or a socket to catch the nut. I called Can Tire and will bring my truck in tomorrow morning to get it serviced.

Oh and dodge ram guy - are you sure its 150 ft lbs? Online it says 100 ft lbs.
Yeah 100-120. Full size is 150 thats what im used to doin.

when i was down at the tire shop our lugs are actually two peices, you are missing the cap off of the lug (the shiney part) which probably came off with normal driving. what happen now is that you are stuck between two sizes because that cap changed the actual size. ill take a picture tomorrow to show what im talking about that is why i carry the cap in my glove box. oh and dakotas are well known for snapping studs! ive been through 4 guy at the shop says that's why he hates dakotas especially because they are hard to properly align

Brian,

Yeah I know the caps you're talking about, all 3 wheels have ALL the chrome caps on. The driver side only had 1 cap on when I looked at it ( I took it off in the picture) so clearly whoever put on the driver side front wasn't doing it right.

Right now I plan on going to Canadian Tire tomorrow morning and telling them to take the lug off and fix the stud if its broken too, but to also re-torque all the nuts to 100 ft lbs. I have the receipt for when I had the work done.

The worst that can happen is that they wont do it for free and I will just walk out of there never to have it serviced there again.

A 18mm socket will fit with out the cap on the nut.

My buddy has a snap on set like that normal lug nut sizes but if you strip one you flip it around hammer it on to the lug nut and then take it off.

Ok..
So the only solution I can think now
is to drill the lug and just change it to a new one
I the part that damaging the rim is on to
You how you hold a drill we did that
On my friend integra lucky us only two
need to drill...
Good luck

Alright well so I took it in yesterday morning like instructed, and then they tell me they wont be able to look at it for 3 hrs. I complain and I am basically told to come back the next morning at 7:30. TTruck gets looked at arouns 8:30 and is finally finished by 9:30.

They replaced the oem lug nuts with aftermarket ones and did not charge me anything.

sounds like a cheap and agreeable solution. glad it worked out for you. now take off all the lugs and put some anti seize on them to avoid future probs.

I have a stripped nut socket that I bought and it works wonders! it has some flutes that grip the nut.
I am also a firm believer in anti-seize compound I put a small dab along the threads of fasteners that don't require loc-tite.
