Default AC/Heater Control Bulb replacement

I have a 2001 Dakota SLT, 4.7, AWD

Need to know how to get to the bulbs behind the AC/heater controls.

Do you have to pull the entire dash? Or does the bezel around the controls just pop out?

Any information/instructions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Default Well you are in luck

Well you are in luck I just replaced my A/C controller unit in the dash you have a newer model but it should be similar yes you pop off one dash piece then its 4 screws to extract the control unit pull out as far as you can but don’t force it you will see the bulbs they are in little rubber holders.

Ignore the yellow lines thats from another post but can you see the round gray things thats them

Are you sure it’s the bulbs are both out and did they both cut out at the same time if so you are probably looking at another problem not the bulbs like wiring or a fuse or other problem.

Are other dash lights out also then you have another problem.

you have to remove the dash to get to the HVAC controls, the first time is always intimidating but it is fairly easy. I found a video link for you. let me know how it goes

Default Very diff than my 98 Dak

Diff than my 98 Dak but somewhat the same but I see the A/C controles are attached to the dash you need to remove not screwed in like my set.

Didnt know their was that much a diff to the dash on a 2001.
