I GOT AN IDEA LETS ALL PUT ARE BEUTIFEAL TRUCKS IN THE GARAGE AND PULL OUT ARE SPIDER WEB COVERD BIKES PUMP UP THE TIRES AND WHALLA NO MORE GAS PROBLEMS JUST ACHEING LEGS......................NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! But hey atleast the tree huggers would shut up hahaha. Another intresting qeustion would be if hydrogen will ever come around as a replacment for gas. I bet every terriost in the book would love that. It would be like haveing free hyrdrogn bombs after minor tweaks lol.

Ya cant make hydrogen bombs with hydrogen itself. Plutonium is needed.

Still everyone would be driving a Hindenberg! A good rear end collision can make a great looking fireball. Make Ford's exploding gas tank look like a lady finger.

US oil companies are posting record profits from what I've heard. And if that $6/barrel figure is correct, the companies who own the pumps are making a fortune as well, selling it at ten times the cost. Gas is still cheaper than milk (non-discount brand stuff anyway) and if you factor inflation in gas is on par where it was quite a while ago. Ten years ago you could get a gallon of gas for a bit over a buck a gallon, now it's just under 3. A Miata was about 15k, now they're getting to be in the mid 20k range. I don't know why people complain about gas prices, everything costs more than it used to, it's nothing new.

Didn't you just have a breeze? [:-]

And yeah, I often spend 60 bucks to fill the tank. I've put 75 in my Ram before.

If I wait till the light comes on, it costs me 70 pounds to fill mine!
This is in a country that is compleatly self sufcient in oil yet puts on 65% in taxes. Can't let them take all the credit though, as its been correctly stated the all the oil companies are making record proffits. They have deliberatly created bottle-necks in the refining stages of production to maximise proffits and ensure an artificialy high price. Word demand continues to grow but in the past 10 years, the oil companies have beeb CLOSING refineries! There isn't any spare capacity, as wittnessed these past couple of months. They've got us by the short and curlies.
