Default 2003 Dakota hauling dilemma..

2003 dodge dakota v6 slt short box 2wd hello recently picked up a lund boat with motor say 400lbs plus trailer weight, problem is that i'd like to haul both boat and quad, which i used to use a trailer to tow with. 98 quadrunner 500 is the bike lets say 500 lbs
Measured it looks like i may be able to fit the bike backwards providing i buy a backrack for the truck protecting the back windshield, i need to be able to close the tailgate and removing it would be too risky. Again keep in mind boat hauling and loading the bike.
has anyone had success with the backrack? is it worth it for me to buy also would it just be too much weight for the truck?

i have a factory paper service manual, for a 2001 dakota. on the VIN the position 4 tells the gross vehicle weight rating. letter f=4001-5000 lbs, g=5001-6000 lbs. h=6001-7000 lbs. find a truck stop and get it weighted empty, some times a coop in the county will weigh it for free.

So maybe we are talking about 1,800-2,000lb? My buddy had 5k on the back of his 3.9 only difference was his was 4x4. It pulled it fine. How far do you plan on towing?

hauling 1,000 - 2,000 lbs is no trouble at all. my friend guessed we hauled 4k-5k on my 2001. just dont drive to hard.
