I have a 2000 dakota with the 4.7L engine. This morning the oil pressure gauge suddenly jumped to 110. It's basically just pinned and dosen't change at idol. The truck is running normally. Is this just a bad sending unit, or gauge?

 

sounds like the sensor went bad to me or it could be the gauge like you said, I think they are cheap about $20 to $30.

Not sure how hard they are to replace on a V8 my 2.5L 4 its easy to get at.
