Help: 2002 Dakota 4WD SXT A/C low pressure switch
Long story short, the transducer was not the problem, it was actually working properly and may have saved the compressor from damage. When replacing the fixed orifice the aluminum threads were damaged and allowed freon to leak from the system. Undetectable by eye, but when the vehicle was in a quiet atmosphere I could hear a very weak hissss while recharging. I had to cut out the old orfice and install an aftermarket unit with compression fittings on either end. Evacuated the system, recharged and now back up and running.
PS I did order a new pressure transducer from AutoZone, which supposedly was the correct fit for my 2002 3.9L Dakota. It wasn't even a close match.

Sounds like you never did a vacuum on your system after reassembly that would of given you an answer at the start.
A system vacuum is mandatory why first it removes any moisture in the system that has been open, second is to check for any leaks.
By your description I knew you were more than likely not going to get the correct part what you have is an oddball A/C setup not the norm.
