Just bought my 2nd 2004 Dakota!
HI guys - its been a bit since I've been online.
Get this....The check engine light comes on in the 2004 dakota - its the 4door 4.7 4x4 with 180,000 miles.
So the code is a P0700 - transmission
I take it into AAMCO & they said its a total failure, the converter will not lockup & its overheating.
So I clear the codes & head to a local dealer.
He's got a 2004 dakota, 4 door 2x4 4.7 & only 65k miles.
Bright red paint - has a few options I didnt' have on my old one. The home link etc.
So I'm stoked right...
The new truck threw a P0308 code on the way home. Ha - I guess I need to do a tune up. Its time for a coil & new plugs!
Otherwise the engine sounds so much better than the old worn out one!
I'm looking forward to another 5 years of Dakota fun!
