Hello today i was coming down the hill into town at about 60 and all of a sudden my truck lurched and tires locked for a second then it felt as though it went into neutral, while still in gear. So i immediately stopped and reached down to see if it had moved out of 2wd into 4wd, it hadden't, i shifted into 4wd and still nothing, then i put it in 4Lo and i got movement but now even in 2wd or 4hi position it is still in 4Lo, can anyone shed light on this? Truck is a 2000 Dakota with 4.7l and manual trans. Also there is a 1997 Dakota with the 5.2 and i believe manual trans but not sure, will the transfer case off that vehicle work in my 2000? Please help i need this fixed fast it is my only vehicle, any info will be greatly appreciated.
