Is there another I.d plate that will identify my transmission and rear end. I have the one under the pass seat but it did not help with tranny and rear end. There is no tag on the rear end.

 

There's a sticker inside the glove box with the info.

 

this inf is from a 2001 dakota paper book from the factory,service manual. the body code plate, line 2 , digits 1,2,3. trans code. DDK=5-speed manual (NVG 1500)......DDQ=5 speed manual (AX15)........DDC=5 speed manual (NVG 3500).......DGK=4 speed auto (42RE)......DGW=4 speed auto (44RE)..........DGT4 speed auto (46RE). on the trans side rail left side above the pan is, 1..part number,2 build date, 3 serial number.. ii THINK 2 of the trans,s are realy the a little alike, but i dont know which ones. the rear end is easy. the 8 1/4 rear has 10 bolts on the pan cover, and tha sides of the fan are round. a 9 1/4 rear end has 12 bolts on the pan,and the edges of the pan have flat spots, if looks flat its a 9 1/4. EDIT: i hope i didnt make any mistakes. i think next time ill use a different format
