What engine do I have ?
Because back in 2000 they didn't care as much about MPGs as they do now.
Yea even my small 2.5 is not very good on the MPG scale trucks were not made for MPG back then even though you would of thought the new at that time 4.7 would of had better MPG.
About 1995 to 2006 they were on the bigger and bigger car/truck mania in America MPG was not looked at it was POWER that people wanted gas was cheap back then.

We really like the truck, so I guess I'll have to deal with it. lol
I understand what you're saying about the need of mpg back then, but you would think it should have better than this. Especially a 2-wheel drive, EFI, over drive tranny 60 mph @ 2,000 rpm and small tires.

A 4.7 2wd 60mph on the highway should be able to at least get 16. When my tranny went in my truck I was driving a 4.7 grand cherokee and around town I got 15-16 and highway was 19mpg. That was me being kinda hard on it lol.
Prob different gears. Im the same way in my ram 60 at 2k but I have 4.10's
That is weird !
With some searching, it's either a 3.55 or 3.92. The truck was ordered by the original owner (I'm the 2nd) with the tow package, so do you think it's the 3.92 ?
With no manual, where else would the information be ?
In the vin tag ?
Maybe a tag on the pumpkin ?
