I re-installed the fan and it now runs around 17 amps. Might be time for a new fan motor. Also, I checked the resistor pack and it seems to be ok. The only real charring occurred at the spade terminals connections.

Exclamation I say check your ground for the A/C system

I say check your ground for the A/C system a poor ground could cause this also I think so check the ground wires make sure they are good not rusty clean all paint away from any grounds so its metal to metal then use some dielectric gel on them.

Its worth a shot you never know it may help.
