Default brakes issue

Ok this past week i changed my driver side caliper cause it blew out. now accouple days later i am getting this weird pressure thing going on in my brake peddle. for instance everytime i hit the brakes they work normal then all of the sudden they get soft and then i get a large surge of back pressure pushing my foot back up again and they get soft again. does anyone have any idea what might be causeing this? Also i been hearing a sound coming from the back of my truck that sounds like 2 peices of metal rubbing on them selfs which i think might be the rear shoes so i have to check them tomorrow.

Maybe there is air in your brake line? I'm not sure but I would definately check that out - or does your truck have ABS?

If it makes kind of a grinding noise while it does it chances are its your ABS - happened all the time on my grand prix - if it was it's probably a sensor.

Lightbulb air or?

Sounds like air in the system or?

Did you replace the flex lines? Sounds like you may have a bad flex line thats pinching down on you.

You may have sucked air in the master if you let it get to low I would bleed all the lines to be sure.

Sounds like back brakes may need work

Bleeding the whole system would be a good idea. Brake fluid like any oil gets old and breaks down.
The rubber lines could be collapsing also.

well i checked all the lines and they are all fine. But when i went to look at the drums i found something not so good. Apparently 2 springs broke and the 2 internal cable clips broke and were grinding against the inside of the drum. so i changed all the springs on both sides of the truck and the shoes but only changed the drum on the passenger side. now it brakes a hell of alot better
