Yep, Lysol the floor pan, floor mat, carpet and pad pretty good once it is all dried out. I am a big Lysol fan because I am very sensitive to funky smells. I spray Lysol into the A/C intake vents on the cowl of my truck every so often to cut down any bad smells from the A/C system. A/C Pro makes a good A/C deodorizer too that you inject in the HVAC box through the drain tube with the A/C running. Napa sells A/C Pro and I think Advance does too.

If it were me I would con the relatives into helping take out the entire front seat and the bottoms of the back seats and then take the entire carpet set out of the truck, hang it over a fence in the sunshine to really dry out for a few days, then dry the living crap out of the inside with towels, hair dryers, a heat gun or even a heat lamp and let the truck itself sit in the sunshine for a day with both doors wide open and windows down. But I tend to take things a bit too far sometimes.

There used to be a really good deodorizer spray, it was called "Ozium". It was sold in a small skinny round can, Walmart used to sell it, maybe they still do. That stuff smells great and is the best over the counter air freshener-deodorizer spray I have ever used. It is the only thing I ever found that would cut the smell of cigarette smoke in a car. It works real good on moldy musty smells too. You can also buy a bucket of Damp-Rid and set that in the truck, it will draw moisture from the air. I think the main thing to do is first get the A/C and water leak fixed and then tackle the wet carpet after that.

Yeah, unfortunately I'll be bust Saturday and only have Sunday to work on it so I don't really have the time to take the seats out and what not. I might just have to leave the doors open and setup a fan to blow on it for the day. Then I'll get some Lysol and spray it down. Hopefully cleaning out the condensate drain will cure the problem. Is that the only reason I would end up with that much water on the floor? It seems like a lot of condensation to me but then again it was really humid...

I just joined. I have a 2004 Quad Cab 4X4 SLT. I am having the same issue with the water on the floor board.

I have taken all the seats out. Removed all the carpet. Peeled back the rubberized insulating material at the firewall.

The water seems to be draining back into the cab through the firewall. The drain looks to be working properly and its does not seem clogged. It flows freely but runs down the firewall.

I am taking it to a buddy of mine who owns a shop on Monday to track down the problem.

When I get the answer I will Let you know...

Smile the answer is simple

the answer is simple you are missing the rubber elbow that directs the water down if this is missing the water kind of dribles down the drip tube and gets pushed back inside the cab by water suction and air pushing on it as you drive. Another person had the same problem last year on this forum.

Oh so did I after a shop lost the little elbow and water started getting in my Dakota I had them replace the elbow and no more water Fin.

Over-charge sounds about right. I had the same issue this spring and after NTB completed evacuating and re-filling it my problems were gone - all for $200.

Yeah, let us know what it ends up being.

I had intentions of working on mine this weekend but there simply wasn't any time.

I bet you are right 98DAKAZ…
I just bought the truck a month ago so I will be on here when I find more issues.

A simple fix for a problem I think my truck has had for a while.

I noticed the High pressure tranny line near the oil filter access hole is kinked when I was nosing around under the hood. It must have enough flow or I am sure there would be a major problem.

I looked on Rockauto but couldn't find the parts. I am going to try and fix all I can when I have use of my buddy's lift on Wednesday.

I will look for problems tomorrow and hopefully fix on Wednesday.

Default best thing you could ever do

The best thing you could ever do with a new used auto is find all the hidden problems and fix them before they become big problems a bright flash light and a few hours inspecting everything gets you ahead of the problems. Start a list of needed repairs and prioritize them first before you start buying those new shinny headlights and aluminum mags/toys, needed repairs should come first.

That's funny because it is true….

I have been good, only bought nerf bars and I got the pair on ebay for $30 total. They were new scratch and dents. Of course they are for an Equinox. It is good having a buddy with a garage, he can figure make brackets to fit.
