Default Just installed mt flowmaster super 44. Not sure If I like it

So as the title states just installed my new muffler. Does anyone know if after a while of driving it'll break in/get a bit louder. I was running a straight pipe an it did sound pretty awesome and loud but that's the same thing everyone else around runs so I wanted something with a different tone but still loud. I defiantly got the tone but the loudness isn't as much as I hoped for. I was going to go with the super 10 but watching youtube videos it sounded just like a straight pipe to me.

Edit: apparently I should have proof read the title of my post also

It's a muffler so of course it's going to sound a lot different than strait pipes.. Many say they will but my 40 series still sound the same as the day it was installed. No tone/loudness change at all.

From what I understand I thought that the muffler needs a "break in period".

I've been thinking about adding a Flowmaster 40 series to mine also, and I can't decide if I want to go with that, or the cheap 10 series. Someone had a video of theirs with it and it sounded pretty throaty and loud which I like.

I was reading an articular the other day; Flowmaster are good for sound.. but for actual flow.. their at the bottom of the list.. and I agree when i put mine on.. i could feel a light decrease in pickup in the very low end vs stock muffler that was on it.

The video i saw had the 10 series and it sounded like my straight pipe. I guess ill just have to wait and see if it breaks in otherwise Ill be going to the 10 series or back to straight pipe

My Hooker is just as loud as the day I installed it, or so it seems. It may have gotten slightly louder but not noticeably.

I have a Super 44. It took a bit of time before it got louder.

The only muffler I can see actually needing a break in period would be one that is packed with some sort of fiberglass or other type packing.. these flowmasters are simply reflective.. so that would mean if it did; some how the metal inside is weakening.. or warping.. changing the surface of the sound wave reflection to a degree that the other reflective wave does not cancel it out..

maybee certain models do.. but I know my 40 series did not.. it simply stayed the same...

but if i had it to do over; I probably would have went with a magnaflow, Borla or strait pipe.
