So you're trying to remove the stud? They are pressed in, so a good large hammer can knock those suckers right out.

Default It just spins

It just spins the nut on the stud or is it jammed on if jammed on just use a big crank bar and snap it off like butter I have had to do this a few times each time it snaps off with ease. I use the long floor jack handle as an extension those things are strong well the one I have is. Then you beat the snaped off stud out the back.

Works like charm

Well I dont know if this trick will work on an aluminum mag this was when I had my stock steel rims.

Exclamation nut splitter

nut splitter I have seen them but dont know if they are a rent item in auto stores or not?

Is it on a mag so it’s recessed in a hole in the mag? If so I dont know how to get a nut splitter on the nut? Call a wheel shop like Big O tires thay may have a way.

Autozone maybe! not sure it fits your lug nut

Here's and idea old farmer told me this one...Get a can of ac refrigerant and spray it down cooling it way down smack it with a sledge and a bar. the frigid temp might make it brittle..or sears and auto zone sell stripped nut removers, here's a link advance sells them also http://www.sears.com/craftsman-10-pc...1&blockType=G1

Exclamation One way that may work

One way that may work?

At times when this happens one way I have removed a stripped out nut on a stud/bolt is remove all the other lug nuts but the stripped one get one or two friends to grab the wheel and pull on the wheel you are putting pressure on the nut and try to extract it

Basically what you are doing is applying force/leverage on the nut to hopefully get it to catch any remaining threads and get it to back out for you.

Now if you have damaged the stud/bolt like mushroom the thing this will never work now.

===============================================

I have found out these studs are strong but brittle as I said I have just twisted them off a number of times and usually what happens is they snap off very cleanly like they were cut off. I wonder if a good hard sideways smack with a sledge hammer would do the same thing.

But if this is a mag this could damage the Mag at the same time.
