Gas with Ethanol (E10) makes for crappy running engines
TO:
98DAKAZ you couldn't be more right. in some states you can find just gasoline. i found one in Wichita KS. i ran it for 6 tanks. NO mpg gain, and with a, all ready under powered v-6 dak dodge engine the mid-octane gave no power. dont forget the MMO. i allso get a sta-bil just to get the measuring tower. putting MMO in the tank is a snap.

My beef is this
Ethanol improves NOTHING regarding your mpg or how it runs
Ethanol will never be produced in quantity’s to even come remotely close to reducing our oil use by even 1%
Ethanol is not a cleaner fuel not if you factor in how it is produced and the water and fertilizer need to produce it

I think ethanol is pretty ridiculous all around. Outside of the fact that decreases power and all the other negative side effects for your fuel system, the fact that we're using food as fuel isn't right IMO. If it were waste, then alright, but it's not. Its perfectly good corn and other plants that could be used for food. There are people starving out there and we use it to power our vehicles... not all that ethical in my mind. Crude oil is one thing. There isn't a whole lot to do with it, so use it for energy. Corn on the other hand is a different story. Just my opinion though and what I know about it. I'm not expert on ethanol so maybe my view isn't perfect, but that is how it seems on the surface to me.
