Default Truck died help!

So I was driving back from the girlfriends and my truck started to completely lose power, I wasn't sure what was going on so I pulled it into a parking lot just as it shuttered then died. Tried to restart, turns over no problem but doesn't idle, just shutters and dies. I checked the oil, quite a bit over the full mark, which is weird because the motor (4.7) calls for 5.7 liters of oil and when I changed it last week I maybe out 5.9 liters just to empty the jug. I religiously never let the gas drop below half but this past week ive been doing a lot of running so it's been below quite a bit. The trucks got 155000 Kms on it, I just changed the plugs and cleaned the throttle body. I do have an evap code P0455 and a gas smell when the truck first starts. This is my daily driver so any help would be great

Default did you just fill it up?

Kind of sounds like some cheap bad gas to me? Did you just fill it up?

Oil is the synthetic colour as I just changed it last week, the coolant is low, so ill top it up when I get it home and nothings dripping on the ground except the usual fluid that keeps dripping from the tranny gasket. I have to get it towed

Default why

Why moe7404 was asking about the oil color is he is thinking blown head gasket. Well that is what I think he is looking for low coolant and high crank case oil? You see what I mean.

Clogged fuel filter? My old s-10 did the same thing, turns out the fuel pump packed it in.

Its so sad that the reliable 318 was replaced with this horrible engine. My 02 4.7 with 100k on it had similar symptoms a few months back. It ended up being the gasket for the water pump. Do you smell coolant when it runs? It fixed the truck for a few months until the next thing broke. Its in the shop right now cause it overheats after just a few miles. God why did I get a 4.7.

took it to my dads friend whos been a mechanic for 25+ years, he says it could be the fuel pump, but you can hear it when you turn the key on it doesnt sound bad

My truck had this problem, the computer had died. It'd spin over for a bit, finally catch fire, but I had to idle it with my foot at 1200, anything else stalled. TPS change didn't work, checked codes, bus error.

Once it's been sitting, you should be able to hear the fuel pump prime the system at keyup.
