I have a 2001 Dakota Sport Club Cab 2WD 3.9L that will have a lack of power sometimes misfire through the throttle body. When I first start it up it seems ok, still seems to lack power but generally ok. After I drive it for a while, then stop and turn off the engine, let it cool for approx 30 min and then try to drive it again it starts to misfire through the throttle body and it bogs down really bad. The engine light does not come on.
Things that have recently been replaced:
Engine (Long Block) old engine overheated and died
Radiator
All Hoses
Serpentine Belt
Catalytic Converter
All 4 Oxygen Sensors
Spark Plugs
Plug Wires
Distributor Cap & Rotor
Throttle Position Sensor
PCV Valve and Grommet
Crankcase Exaust Elbow and Grommet (I think thats what its called, its on the other valve cover accross from the PCV Valve.)
Before the old engine died (approx 2 years ago) I had replaced all the Fuel Injectors and the Fuel Pump.

just thought- ever checked ignition timing? It's def a timing issue, either cam, ignition, or both. Distributor can easily turn if it's not locked down

It is PCM controlled (considering the dizzy is under the cowl, I've never got a good look at it, probably something similar to old vacuum advance systems), but I could have swore the base could still rotate and screw things up, maybe not.
Either way I think the balancer should be marked.

I had this exact same problem but my turned out to be an O2 sensor, but before I found that I changed the crank sensor and it helped a little.

check catalytic and fuel pump bad fuel regulator maybe i was having the same problem and very very poor mpg
