Default Power control module connector pin outs?

My son and I are putting a Fuel Smart in his '04 Dakota and need the pin out information for the PCM connectors (C1, C2, C3 & C4.) We'd appreciate any help. Our Haynes Manual was of no use for the '04 model.
Thanks.

Alldatadiy.com should have the full wiring diagrams for your Dakota. It's basically an e-copy of the Dodge manual.

I'd never heard of "Fuel Smart."

Quite honestly, I don't see how it can work. Sure, you can cut the injector pulse to deactivate cylinders but your O2 sensor is now going to be thinking "lean" mixture from the additional air being pumped in, so of course it will compensate by making the mixture "richer."

Since it is from a common exhaust manifold there would be no precise way to pinpoint when the additional air is being "injected" by the dead cylinder.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

Default Fuel Smart

Thanks. I'll try ALLDATA.

We already have the Fuel Smart devices in our 2002 & 2006 Grand Caravans.
The '02 with 280K miles is getting ~20% improvement in MPG. The '06 with 140K miles is doing a little better. I learned about the device from Gearz.

This may not seem like much, but if gas is $3.00 per gallon, a 20% improvement in MPG is like paying $0.60 less per gallon.

how much is does it cost? you also have to weigh that into the equation on how long that mod will take to pay itself off.

The Fuel Smart is $295, plus $10 shipping & installation. My return on investment was about 3.5 weeks with the 3500 miles I average a month at my job. After it paid for itself, I've been saving about $120/month in gas.

I just reread my last post. The ROI should have read 3.5 months, not 3.5 weeks. Sorry.
