Default Days like this are the days I love my Dakota a little more.

Was driving into work and got hit. Crazy Monday morning. I am a little sore right now, but I am also thankful and happy me and my truck are escaping with little more than a scuff. I can't say the other car is as lucky.

I bought a bumper off of a member here, not sure of his screen name here, but he is also at the Dakota Durango forum as toy4whatever. This is a custom bumper he made for the Dakota. I am impressed. Didn't budge, and I get to see another day with my truck. Its actually still all a little unbelievable to me.

My factory one got hit like this; she had a little more damage; in a POS nissan and my bumper was bent in.. Cheap factory.. LOL

Custom made bumper, but by another forum member.

Now that the adrenaline has worn off I am hurting pretty good. My truck is looking way better than I feel.

Holy **** that's awesome that the bumper held up like that. The other car is look at thousands in damage. Hopefully you're alright of course. I can't believe how much damage was done to the other car.

nothing like having a REAL TRUCK BUMPER. how ever a guy that knew a lot said, if the bumper is TO heavy duty it will bend the frame and not the bumper.

Thanks guys, yeah I am getting around. Amazing how sore I am getting. He did hit me good, and the impact was pretty bad. I know the energy went somewhere, I am worried about the frame honestly. I think I will get an opportunity to have it looked at by a shop during the whole investigation process.

I got hit straight on, so we will se what happened to the frame. I am thankful though that I was in my truck.

Still, I've known more people than I'd like to that have gotten hit or hit something in a Dodge Ram, Dakota, or Durango and walked away from it in pretty good shape for the impact. Trucks can be replaced if they need to be, people can't.

Default day three

The 2-nd gen Dakota was the last of the heave thick steal trucks if you get a good look at most cars/trucks now they are very thin skinned and plastic panels to drop the weight of the truck but then they do weigh a lot so good and bad.

I hope you are ok been in all to many bad accidents myself over the years day three is the worst.
