o/d button on gear shift

Default o/d button on gear shift

Does anyone know if button on gear shift is for o/d and if so is a light suppose to light up on dash when pushed?

Yes it s for O/D and Yes a light under the gear selector lights up. It is amber in color and looks like this - O/D OFF

and it appears in the gear indicator on dash. If it doesn't light and you can't feel the bucking downshift, then you probably have a bum fuse.

Thanks for the information, I spoke to the salesman today and he advised that the mechanic that did the safety check on the vehicle advised that this vehicle doesn't have o/d and therefore the button is for nothing, I will have my mechanic look at it and see if a bum fuse is the problem or if it just doesn't have o/d. Thanks again.
