Default Ever seen a tool like this?

No, I'll bet not.

I made this pulley holder to remove my fan clutch. That SOB will not budge. I soaked it over night with PB Blaster, installed this bad boy grabbed on with a huge wrench and nothing.

Lefty loosey correct? When I say left I am facing the truck and turning towards the passenger side.

Anybody have any tips on how to break this thing lose?

Thanks for posting up. All the information I could find said it was standard thread. The new clutch is also standard thread.

I guess it is possible it is reverse thread, stranger things have happened...

That is some cool tool fabrication..The first time I had to remove my fan clutch I rented the removal tool kit from Auto Zone and that did not work very well. I used the spanner wrench from the kit and stuck bolts in two of the holes on the water pump pulley and held the spanner wrench against the bolts, kind of the same principle as the tool you have fabbed up there. I put a big ole adjustable wrench on the fan clutch nut and had to whack the handle of the wrench a few times with a big hammer to pop the nut loose. If you have a 4-cylinder I think the nut is left hand thread. On a V6 or V8 it is standard right hand thread, so you need to turn or whack the nut towards the passenger's fender to remove it. Also the fan itself has two blades that are further apart than the others. Turn the fan so the wider space is up, so you have better access to the fan clutch nut.

Thanks for the tip about the fan Jimmy, that should prove helpful when I go back at it.

I guess I am going to break out the torch and see what happens.
