Default Fuel pump problem?

Hi, I have a 2003 Dakota V6 3.9 automatic. I need some help figuring out why I hear a constant humming sound coming from the area where the fuel pump is located. The noise is there most of the time even when in park. I also noticed it has been idling kind of rough. It stalled once about 3 weeks ago when I had to reverse on an incline. About 6 months ago I had problems with stalling when coming to a stop. I thought it was the fuel pump then but it turned out to be 2 of the cylinders were misfiring. The mechanic fixed the problem by installing new sparkplugs and wires. He also cleaned the throttlebody. Now I hear this humming sound. This sound wasn't there 6 months ago. Could that mean that the fuelpump is going out? Any input would be appreciated.
