Default o2 sensor swap

Got a quick question: does anyone know if I can use a left upper O2 sensor in the upper right O2 sensor. This is on an 2001 dodge dakota with a 3.9 V6 with auto trans. I replace the right with a new Bosh unit and the left with a new Denco unit. I think the Bosh one is maybe giving me the trouble and want to try the one I replace on the left on the right. The right was repaced due to a code and the left I replace just to try and fix the backfire problem. I'm sure the old left upper is still good. Thanks Roddey

Every brand of sensor is a bit different how sensitive they are most are about the same.

But I suggest keeping the same brand all around to minimize problems

Default just want to try

I know to try and use the same brand. I just would like to know if anything will be messed up by trying the old good O2 from the left upper in the right upper to see if this fixes my other problem. Does anyone really know?

Rockauto shows different part numbers for the different locations. I think it's just the harness length that is different.

You shouldn't hurt anything by trying.

Oh yeah, ditch the Bosch. Dakota's don't like them.

well I changed them yes the wire is longer on the left upper but the plug end is different. I decided to remove the outside housing so that I could plug it up. Started fine and no engine light. Have not been able to drive yet. will post the results as soon as I'm able to drive the truck. I got my fingers crossed.

Well I drove it all around, starting and stopping, turning it off and waiting a while. No problems. So I parked it and waited about 3 hours and did it again and still no problem. I think the Bosch O2 sensor was the problem. I had replaced it due to an engine light. So yes the Bosch O2 sensor is not good for a Dodge V6. Hope this helps and if I have an more problems with this I will up date this post.
