Default 2002 Dakota 3.9L Exhuast

Alright so i need help with an exhaust set-up.

Right now i have the stock cat. going to a Flow40 imitator (messed up there, doesn't have the real Flowmaster sound) dual ported 2'' pipe.
I'd like to have a deeper sound to it, and upgrade to true dual exhaust.

What i'd like to know is, what is best for the price and sound? My budget is around $400. Should i get high flow cats. or stick with the stock and run the one out to two mufflers? Also, some suggestions on muffler. It doesn't have to be Flowmaster, i'm just looking for that deep throaty sound. Also should i up to 2 1/2'' pipe?

Basically i need an entire set up suggestion. Thanks for reading!

well i dont really think there is a way of doing all that for only 400 dollars unless u can bend all the tube and weld it all ur self then maybe. but i still think it may end up being more. but if u really want to do this i would think hi flow cats would be better way of getting ur sound u want plus upgrading the tube after the cat to 2.5" would make it sound just that much better. As for mufflers i got the hushpower muffler for my truck and it makes it sound monstrous.
remember tho that lets say u go spin tech cats go for 115.95 each and magnaflow start at 68 each depending on the O2 sensor ports. that right there will put u close to ur spending limit.

Thanks for the reply. After looking at prices for cats i've given up on the idea up upgrading all together. That and after being told 100 times my truck sounds good as is. I've considered making a video to see what others think, considering what i have isn't very high end at all. I'm just going to use the extra money for something that will give me a little more enjoyment and entertainment.

i just cut off the stock exhaust just after the cat and ran straight pipe. it sounds good, nice rumble and it does not drone in the cab when driving.

Cherry Bomb Extream ( $60.00) and an OE pipe from auto zone or a parts store and you can knock out the cat it will sound hella good
