If it's their combo, I would like to assume that they change the springs to suit.
Easy way to find out, pull the fuel pump relay, take a valve cover off, bump it around till an intake valve is wide open (down), and take a set of feeler gauges and see if you can shove between the coils.
Repeat for exhaust valve.
I don't drink beer, but you're welcome to throw me an IBC some time :P

A while back I was working as a painter on an IMSA Porsche race team. They receved a brand new turbo race motor from Germany to be used in the upcoming Daytona 24hr race, the most beautiful motor I have ever seen. Well, I was horrified when the first thing they did was take it apart! Low and behold, one piston was quite a bit heavier than the others. Someone in assembly had made a mistake. I learned from that experience and the loss of a really nice, just re-built 427 Chevy motor of mine, machinists do also make mistakes. Job one, take it apart and check everything myself, rod clearances, mains, cam timing, including timing of each cylinder, valve lift and clearance to pistons, the whole shooting match. Dropping in a motor someone else has built is a bit like someone handing you a gun and telling you it's not loaded. Most times it's not, but that one time it's libel to be a big deal.

Ok after having a few minutes of free time I looked thru the product pages of the combo I bought from Hughes and I think I'm good. Must be some other reason for the noise.
THIS is the head setup I got. Notice it uses the 1110 springs
THIS is the camshaft I bought.
Based off their chart below I should be good. I've italicized what I purchased/installed.
This weekend I REALLY hope to pull the steering gear box and re-seal it so I can start driving it again.
