Hey everyone, I'm in need of a truck and I'm going to look at an 04 Dakota on the weekend. Not sure of mileage yet but it's a 4.7 with a 5spd. Sport, quad cab, 4x4. What should I look out for? Do these come with leather?

 

Well, the givens should be obvious: Being 5 speed make sure the clutch feels right.(assuming you mean manual by stating its 5 speed) Look out for clear coat fading, since that seems to be common. Being an 04, shouldn't be too bad but look under the truck for any bad rust. A lot of people don't take care of their leather seats so personally i wouldn't even want leather but i'm sure they make it an option. With the quad cab 4x4 you won't be looking at a gas saver but from what i've heard that truck with the 4.7 has no problem hauling loads. Hope this helps some how.

 

just my idea. check the coolant, for condition. cause that will cause the engine to over heat, if it isnt good. been driving cars since 1965, i still dont under stand why we still use water in coolant systems.
