Default Fastest speed in 4wd?

Now that winters here I'm wondering what speed I can go without ruining anything in 4x4? It's a 2003 with the 4.7 if it makes a difference

Well 4x4 wasn't meant to be used at highway speeds, but I wouldn't recommend anything higher than 90 km/h (55 mph).

Not sure if that's the actual speed rating but that's just my opinion.

Just be careful you're not going quick if you have the on-the-fly ****, again in my opinion... keep it below 60-80 km/h (40-50mph).

Only use 4x4 when you need it.

I rarely use 4wd in the snow unless i actually can't move without it. But i have gone 55 to 65mph with no ill effects. Keep in mind it was on completely snow covered roads not patchy dry then snow. I think you could easily tear something up that way at those speeds. Best bet is to stay around 40 45ish like he said.

i thought there was a change with the 03 and up year with the trans and transfer case that allowed u to use the 4high on wet/loose roads and even drive on patchy dry then snow area's without harming the 4wd.

Unless it has the Full Time 4wd/AWD transfer box, damage will be done at ANY speed unless the roads are slippery, and I mean snow/ice, not just wet.

I never like going over 45 in 4 hi. Definitely dont drive on non slick surfaces in 4 hi. And dont forget to take it out after mudding because your 4x4 idiot light is burned out then turn onto the highway and show off how fast your truck can go to a girl. And yes that's from experience. Lets just say 115=replacing front axle within 2 days. I dont miss being young and dumb.

The manual says up to 55mph. I've had mine up to 65-70.

I only use the 4wd when I can't get moving at all then dissengage as soon as I get going. Had an accident once involving an accidental 4wd donut, a highway, and an 18 wheeler

Drove 30+ miles at hiway speeds (100kmh) before I realized it was in 4hi. Still works great...
