oil pressure

what would cause the oil pressure of my truck to go to the line before high pressure and I mean directly at the line not before it but when the motor is hot it acts normal. BTW I use 5w-30 synthetic .

It could be a bad sending unit.

Can you put a mechanical gauge on it temporarily to find out what the pressure really is?

What engine?

its a 4.7 L. i would have to go buy one but sure as soon as i do i will post.

BTW its a new oil change with a new wix filter.

Did it do it before you changed the oil and filter?

You may be able to rent an oil pressure gauge at some of the parts stores.

it started this about 2 weeks before i did the change. and will check my nearest store
