Default Dreaded Gas Gauge - NOT the sending unit!

My gas gauge went out on me just over a year ago. It wasn't a gradual thing either. It worked on my way to work and was dead when I started it up to go home. Figuring it was the sending unit, I dropped the fuel tank, pulled the sending unit, found it was bad and replaced it. The gas gauge still does not work! I checked continuity at the driver wheel well and everything seems in order. Could it be the PCM? Do I need to reset the computer? I'm going nuts!

Try a cluster test? Maybe that failed vs the PCM.

Key off, press the trip reset button in and hold it.
Turn the key on (don't start it), while continuing to hold the button until CHEC shows in the odometer window.
Release the button - the cluster will test the lights and sweep the gauges. Any errors will show in the odometer window.

Ran the test and the gauge runs through its sequence just fine.
