Default 2000 Dak restoration/rebuild

so on my other threads im talkin that im doing a rebuild and other modifications to my truck. below is a photo of the progress of the tear down. i have already broken a coupe things mainly bolts. and rot and Massachusetts roads have some decent damage. rotted motor mounts, rotted cab mounts (non-frame).. ok make it easier 40% of the truck was rot, only good steel on it is the motor, frame and all suspension parts. the body was/is horrible.

the motor is getting torn down tomorrow, and prepped for Duplicolor Engine Enamel, its getting a primer coat, then a couple coats of Chrysler Hemi Orange.. im debating between the hemi orange and a gloss red

Wat is your exterior color? I would def lean towards the hemi orange unless your doing some exterior color that would clash with it....

Ext. color is probably going to be a semi-gloss black also from duplicolor

so me and my wifey were workin on the the truck yesterday, got the motor and trans seperated.. the motor is stripped down to just about bare block. got it mostly sanded (well wire wheeled) and is just about ready for paint. the frame is stil in need of more deconstruction, so i can shoot etching primer, and top coat... only if i got 3 days of warm weather.. damn frame wont fit in my garage. wich is heated.. FML.. o well im thinking tent and propane heater.. haha!! it will be a black frame before wed.. i hope. if not atleast itll be primer.. HA!

Damn, you don't mess around! I love seeing these rebuild threads - the tear downs, the before and after pics. Keep snapping pictures man!
Oh and the fact that you have a wife that actually helps out pisses me off. Not too many of those in existance if you ask me!

You cant fit the frame in the garage like on a angle? If anything buy and big tarp and just hang it from the garage door and down to the ground it will keep some of the heat in. Torpedo heaters work great at keeping a area pretty warm.

new 2 dodge,
id love to keep snappin pics.. but i havent figured out how to upload more than 2 pics.. im thinking external site and link over..
TRUST ME she isnt much of a help.. but she is useful.. if its tedious like sanding the block preppin for paint, shes perfect for it..

dodgeramguy,
i had the same idea at one point the only draw back is BUDGET.. i cant get my hands on a heater.. haha but the tarp seems like a good idea, got the money for that.. im scheduled for a nor easter tomorrow... but i say friday i can get back on the frame and finish the prep so i can get it primed and painted.. nice gloss black frame, only to get destroyed by undercoating. as long as its over 50, the paint im using will cure properly.

to everyone,
the motor was primed and painted yesterday. i also noticed that the timing chain cover, and the intake manifold are alum, time to brush them up and clear coat em. keep em lookin shiny on a red motor, with gloss black valve covers

Check you local craigslist they can sometimes be found for 100.00 or less. They come in handy cause you can work on your truck outside when its freezing and then just point it on you and at least be a little warm.
