Default powersteering question

sooo i have a leak on one of my vehicles. the powersteering cooler line is rusted. and leaking bad.... and i cut one off the junkyard cars and was going to put a hose to connect over it. and yea i know its a fast fix.... but what if... i use JB Weld over the pipe.. to connect.them cut at the same spot. and still put the hose to cover over.. would that work? how strong is jbweld?

just buy a new hose or cooler power steering lines run high on the pressure side of things so monkeying it together is a bad idea

If it is on the pressure side it won't hold. Not sure what engine you have but this is the one I purchase from Rockauto for $27.00

if its pump to rack.. its under pressure.. you will need a replacement line.. in a severe pinch, like on the trails need to get out. compression fittings and hi pressure copper tube has worked for me.. seeing caviliers generally run lower pressure compared to trucks, you should be good until u can find a OEM replacement line..

JB weld WILL FAIL.. bottom line man.. sorry to tell ya.. about 15 bux in plumbing parts should keep ya rolling...

-- Mass. Redneck Repair.. haha

tell ya the truth, i had to do that exact fix on a TOW TRUCK.. had to finish a 150 mile tow, and the trip back to the tow yard to replace it the right way.. it does work at highway speed... BUT IS NOT RECCOMENDED FOR HIGHWAY USE..
