Ctm??????
recently bought a 02 dakota and the indicator dash light would start to flash while the engine is running but mot till it gets to temp to be more specific the door ajar, cargo lamp, brake, and another that i don't unstand which is open gate, at first i thought it was from a cheap aftermarket remote start that had been installed so i removed it but still the problem i there just would if that is tied to the CTM.
All that is controlled by the computer not the ctm(almost positive its not) The ctm controls, wipers, interior lights, mirrors, windows, cruise, radio ect stuff like that. Should have nothing to do with the gauge cluster as that is all operated by the different sensors on the truck which is controlled by the pcm.
Try a cluster test.
Key off, press and hold the trip reset button in, then turn the key on.
Continue holding the button in until you see CHEC in the odometer window.
It'll test the lights, sweep the gauges, and then list any codes - including problems with it's memory. The cluster itself is a computer.
Don't be to sure that the remote start didn't damage some wiring either. Give it a good check. Look for bad splices, or a loose ground.

Took your advice an found a bad ground it happen to be the body to frame ground, on the passenger side by the door, one of the eyelets had broke off, went the part store pick up a new one from the help isle and the problem went away for a few days then started again, redid the ground connection by getting right to the bare metal so i know it has good contact. i guess the only other thing it can be is that BCM (CTM)???
