I will give credit the EcoBoost has some power for a V6; but it's also turbo charged racing against a bunch of N/A tunes.

I just thought I would LOL since I could not find but one Hemi that blew the doors off an EchoBoost I decided to post this epic video I found on Youtube. For all you Ford hating Doge hugers this one's for you LOL!

I can't bash any F-150 since my father's has outlasted my Dakota in every way shape and form. His '08 now has 175k miles on it and the only thing it has seen is new spark plugs, brakes, and ball joints. Literally, that is it. I replace more than that every 6 months on my Dakota. Just this past 6 months the rear end went, clutch went, and the fan went... I actually take care of my truck too; my father's truck is abused and the fluids never get changed on time and it runs like it did 4 years ago when he got it.

I love my Dakota as far as the size, looks, interior, motor are concerned, but it has been extremely unreliable.

I've always been a Ford Guy; there was a Sponcered Link the other day talking about the Echo boost.. and since this is a Dodge Forum.. I kinda LOL'd... I really was trying to find a video of the Echo Boost getting it's *** stomped; but um.. Like i said I only found 1 Hemi that actually blew the doors off one.

Just bored i guess.

I'd really like to test drive a new EcoBoost. I'm curious as to how they drive and I'm curious how bad the gas mileage drops off once you're towing something and you're in boost all the time and not just cruising down the highway.

My boss has an STi and gets about 26-27 mpg at 55mph as soon as he hits 70 and he is in boost all the time and no longer in vacuum, it drops to about 20-21 mpg.

I'm guessing the EcoBoost uses sequential turbos, so it probably won't be affected as much.

Damn, trucks have come a long way... I had 1996 F-150 and it got 12mpg! 15 years later they make F-150's that get 25 mpg. Even my Dakota has only seen 20mpg once. Very consistently around 17.5-18 highway.

They could have done better with our engines but instead went with the pact; restricted by Emissions and other such BS. It does not take a lot to make more power out of these motors if done right. It's kinda like the difference for the 5.2L vs the 5.9L. ONly 25HP more but you paid big bucks for the larger engine.

And the fact that it's a small block chrysler, said parts are easy/cheap to get if you look in the right places.

Anything is gonna be faster with a turbo on it. My pap has a 07 f150 with the 5.4 in it and its a turd. Put 3k behind it and its horrible. As far as hemis go our 07 1500 isnt that impressive either. Im pretty sure my dakota could of spanked it no problem. Its got great bottom end but after about 60mph they dont climb too fast. My inline 6 with 6k on the back would kill a eco boost.
