What he said. Ebay has about a million of them for sale at really reasonable prices. I was actually thinking about picking up a couple of extras for when mine someday quits working.

The OReilly Auto Parts store by my house has a display at the counter where they sell batteries for keyless remotes. It also has a built-in tester to tell you if your remote is working. Maybe you could look for one of those instead of paying the dealer to check it?

Default Remote

Hey guys, I just picked up a 2002. The owner didn't have any remotes for it. I have seen them on eBay but was wondering how/where you have them programmed and approximately how much it costs? Thanks!

You will have to first get the build sheet for your truck to ensure you have RKE installed on your truck. Then you will need to contact the dealer in your area to get the correct part number for your remote. The first one the dealer needs to program others you can do yourself. Mine was $44 to program.
