This is bad information. Anyone reading this: Use what your truck/car recommends. Straight 40w oil is NOT something you want to be running in a car that is designed to use a multi-weight oil.

Well he sounds like he is just tossing a blip out I think most people would just ignore his statement.

I used 30 W for years but I lived in California so that is the weight to use in that climate changed to 10W 30 later and run the same now that I live in AZ.
