I have a 1997 dodge dakota v8 mangum i have been having this loud annoying whinning noise coming from underneath the truck by the tranny and i can hear it from inside the truck down by the gear shifter, it only makes the noise when i give it gas ican push in the cluth while driving with no gas and it goes away but if i ouch in the clutch and give it gas it gets loud. i just changed the serpentine belt and tranny and transfer case fluid. help me please
where are these throw out bearings located and is it an easy fix i got underneath the truck today and it sounds more in the tranny towards the back end of it

The throwout bearing is part of the clutch.
My guess is that it's gear whine or an output/tailshaft bearing.
Did you have it idling in neutral w/ parking brake on while you were under it, or on jackstands in gear [IMO not a smart thing but sometimes necessary]?
