Default Dash light color

I've been doing some searching online and on this forum and have't found much help yet. I want to change the lights in my instrument cluster but not sure what color to use. I would like red but I've heard it doesn't show very well. Has anyone done this and if so what color have you found to be the best for our factory gauges? Also is it possible to change the hvac controller lights as well as the headlight switch? Any help would be great, thanks.

I'd try maybe a white to go with the colour of your truck?

That might be a little boring to your liking though, I would also try a yellow or a purple.

Is it just as simple as changing out the bulb?

yes its that easy the hardest part is getting the cluster out the led bulbs plug right in to the oem bases already installed in the gauge cluster.

flip the cluster over
twist socket base and pull up
grab bulb and pull
get new bulb and push into the base
and twist back into the hole

I'd have to see how the circuit is designed to understand what doesn't work.

from what i understand x amount of voltage is sent to the light and the led's dont use all the power so they shut off and turn on and back and forth
