Default 01 dodge dakota problems

i go to start my truck thismorning batterys dead, so i get a jump get it started and i take my foot off the gas pedel and it dies it wont idel and im not quite sure if its the idle cable or somthing else

It's more likely the battery.

Our trucks don't like it when battery voltage gets low, at all. Replace the battery and it should be fine. Charge it if it was dead from leaving something on but your battery will now be on borrowed time.

ya ill charge it when i get home and look into getting a new battery for it

When the battery dies, it "resets" the PCM back to basic settings. The truck will need to be driven a little bit to re-learn everything. It happens on pretty much every computer-controlled car, but Dodges seem to be the worst for some reason.
