Unhappy Dak won't shift into 4th

So the winter came and apparently my dak's trany or something electric is afraid of the cold. When it gets below -23 it will not shift into the forth gear. Quite annoying. If anyone has ideas to what's causing it, any help would be appreciated.

Many modern vehicles won't shift into higher gears until the transmission has warmed up. At -23, it can take a bit of driving, even then, it may not happen.

It's probably normal.

That may be possible.. however even after an hour of driving nothing happens. Then it would stay overnight and randomly start working the next day. I blame something electrical, maybe water got in..?

My 97 is doing the same thing. Is your temp -23 F or C?
I've heard it might be the shift solenoid.

Is your OD button working properly? I think the cause of MY problems might be the button on an aftermarket gear slelector I have. Is your CEL on? LMK what you find out.

So, I found something: people suggest warming it up in N rather than in Park. I'm going to test the theory right now.
