Default I want a posi rear end

I want a posi rear end.

What are my options?

Is an RT axle swap basically the easiest?

sorry this is a cut and past. i did a gear and posi change on my 8 1/4 rear. i have had this change for at least 6 mo, iam very happy. note i ONLY drive in town.
i just had my V-6 2001 dak changed from 3.55 to a 4.10. my friends here told me i DONT want 4.56s. iam very happy with my 4.10. my MPG went from 9 to 13, in town ONLY. cause the trans shifts it overdrive at 35 mph, that gives it the 13 mpg. i do not think you will like 4.56, unless its a street racer.*motive*gear*4.10 gears C8.25-4.10, dana/spicer locker 84852, install kit DRK303B, 75W90 synthetic*gear*lube VV975. my shop would NOT give the swap any warranty.

Where are you located? I have an 8.25" rear end with 4.10 gears and an Auburn posi that I'd sell you for way less than it would cost you to buy the parts and do it yourself.

I live in MA but I'm heading back to SC for school this week. How much would you want?

I'd probably take $250 for it, but the shipping would be a killer. I was hoping you were closer.

Imo I wouldnt go with a factory replacement. Go with a aftermarket locker and dont look back.

I agree about going aftermarket but I think for a truck that's driven primarily on the road, a limited-slip makes more sense than a locker. I've had both, so I speak from experience.

That's upsetting. I'm in Alabama...and could really use a 4.10. 3.55s are not cutting it.

I'd be happy to ship it but it would have to go by truck and I'm guessing that would cost at least a few hundred dollars. It would almost be cheaper to buy it a seat on a plane.

If you can think of some creative way to get it from California to Alabama...

Would you happen to have a front to match it? I'm in PA but I know guys who haul coast to coast, might be able to get it picked up
