2002 Dodge Dakota Defective ABS?
Hello 98DAKAZ:
I have to say that I'm a bit surprised at your response here. Maybe I have completely misunderstood the intention of this forum but I THOUGHT it was to help one another with Dodge truck related issues.
The intention of my post was to see if anyone had any good advice to offer me or perhaps had experienced the same problem I'm having.
It turns out that I got some really good advice that I hope will help my mechanic solve my issue. I'm sure you are aware that the cost of car repair can be very expensive so why would it be wrong to seek advice here and then bring that information to my mechanic in hopes that it may cut down on his troubleshooting time and cost??? I wasn't initially planning on going to a mechanic but based on the good advice I got, coupled with the fact that I'm due for an inspection sticker, why not? I'm not mechanically inclined enough to fix the problem on my own.
If you read my last post I did mention that I would "report back what I find"...

"Thanks everyone. This is all very good information. I am due for an inspection sticker this month and will print out all the forum information and bring to my mechanic to have a look. I'll report back what they find.

I thought that by reporting back how the issue got resolved, I would be making a CONTRIBUTION to this forum that would ultimately help others and not simply be "leeching information" as you suggest.
My apologies if I offended in any way.

here's an idea ..my brakes got weird on me after a rear diff replacement, i did it in the winter in the single car garage, couldn't remove axles all the way(wall was in the way lol) to replace axle seals, turns out they went bad and my truck did the same thing because i had axle grease on my rear drum brakes..popped out axles replaced seals, cleaned brakes up, all good now
Sorry it took so long to get back to the forum with my diagnosis.
The ABS problems I was experiencing were caused by severely warped or bad rotors. I think when ABS gets applied the problem compounds itself.
Rotors have been replaced and I haven't had the issue since.
