$50 is a darn good deal. I got mine for like $120.

16.5 is darn good to me. I get 14 pretty much no matter how or where i drive. Mine is 4.7 4x4 auto with 285s MTs and a bunch of armor/ winch crap.

Default better gas mileage

I average 19-20 on the highway in my 4.7 2003 quad. First, how are you doing the math? If you are using the trip computer, it could be off based on the size of your tires. I ride 265's and my odometer is off 3 mph. I have a Garmin that does the math for me as it reads my speed based on satellites. After a full tank is used, my Garmin reads that I drove 310-315 miles on the tank; my trip comp reads 289 or so. There is a 4% difference between the two; I add in 4mpg to my trip comp to get an accurate read on my fuel efficiency. Also, KN air filter will add to your efficiency; keep it clean. Bugs and dirt won't help out. Next I'm going to add in a cold air intake for added amounts of HP and mpg. Good luck

If you do a cold air intake then at least make sure its at least sucking in cold air. Although I hope you aren't looking at a $400 unit, because any gains that you'll see will be minimal if you still have a stock engine.

Why are you adding 4mpg?

So many so called cold air intake systems are NOT cold air intakes at all only if it has a way to get air outside of the engine bay is it a true cold air intake

Almost all of these systems on the market still get the air from INSIDE the engine bay THAT is not a cold air intake

A couple years ago I posted that very fact, and numerous other facts, on this forum. I was shot down and my posts were ignored...you don't want to get me started on gas mileage...

There is a lot of expensive junk on the market with great claims of increased gas mileage and or improved power most do nothing or at best give you less than 1% total improvement for you some may even reduce your gas mileage or power.

These claims are marketing ploys to get you to buy a product very rarely do you see any real proof to backup these claims the few with proof have very controlled tests to give the results they need to make you buy the product.

Madison- I add 4mpg to what my trip computer is reading as fuel economy because of the difference between what my garmin is reading and my trip computer. On my garmin, I am driving about 3 miles faster than what my speedometer shows (because the dakota speedometer was originally rated for 245 tires and I am driving 265 now). The odometer on the garmin also shows that I get more miles to my tank than the overhead comp (about a 4-5% difference). When the dte shows 32dte, I know that I have about 40-45 miles left in my tank). And doing the math i found that the difference between the fuel economy showing on the garmin also has a difference of 4 compared to the overhead computer. Hence, why I add 4 to get an accurate read.
