Been looking at a 99 Dakota since my 95 has been sitting due to needing a transmission.

Nothing FOR SURE yet, but I figured I'd check anyway.

Any advantages/disadvantages to the 99? I mean ANYTHING. Because I prefer the first gen look/lack of electronic-driven crap, but wouldn't mind a newer one...

It's a 99 Dakota, V8 with auto transmission. According to Wiki (yeah, I know) it could be the 5.2 or 5.9...idc as long as it's not the 4.7, which Wiki says the 4.7 wasn't introduced til the next year....

So basically just wondering what I should look at/for when I see it in person...

 

5.9s only came in rts which were 2wd anyway. Its not the 4.7 either. only thing u have to worry about is auto tranny and ball joints. I loved my 98 cept for when the tranny went.
