Question Shifting Problem

I have a 2003 Dodge Dakota and I'm having trouble shifting her out of park sometimes. I have to step on the brake pedal 2 or 3 times for it to let me shift. I was just wondering if it could be my brake switch? I'm a Mechanic at a local Honda dealership and know a bad brake switch won't let them shift from park. I was just wondering if my dodge is the same way.
Any help would be GREAT!! Thanks!

Our trucks don't have a brake pedal pawl, that I know of.

However, I had this happen to me. (It's in the FAQ).
