Default Could this Noise be a faulty Alternator

I first noticed it when I was in between two cars. Than this morning when I went to turn on the truck to go to work it didn't turn over as if the battery was dead, I turned it two more times and it turned over and that sound was louder. When I left work the first turn of the key just turn the lights on in the cab and dash but no attempt to turn over the second turn started the truck on. I stop to gas up as I was on E truck started with the first turn

Hows the battery? Are the connections on it corroded or dirty? My ram had dirty connections on it and it would even start slower than normal. I got a good terminal brush and cleaned them up real well and it started like I put a new battery in!

Well other thing to look at is the starter. If if doesnt start get out and tap it with a hammer then try it and see if it will start.
