Default Hi all 4x4 ????/

Hi all, about every 4 to 6 months i use 4x4 to make sure thing are staying lubes up, when i used it last time, i had to back up to disengage it, never had to to do before, it my linkage getting out of adjustment.

No, not likely.

Sometimes, especially if you use it on dry pavement it "binds" and the fix is to back up a bit, to free it up.

Normal, not an issue.

The manualy shifted or non AWD T case dosen't allow the front and rear axles to be driven at different rates .During a turn the front and rear axles travel diferent distances, in 4WD lock the T case is engageing both front and rear axles driveing them together at the same rate. So during turns you have a problem of two axles that are trying to travel diferent distances so the shifter is hard to move because you have to fight the pressure inside the range shift sleeve to shift the t case. Reverseing or in an "S" untill the pressure is released makes shifting easier. This isnt as noticeable on slippery ground because the tires slip and the load on the T case is much less. It is normal opereation of the t case if it locks up the shifter if you drive on good traction condtions in 4WD lock engaged. Driveing with the 4wd locked on in good traction can damage the T case if you do not have the AWD model and make that hard shifting T case worse over time.
