Lots of info in this forum on shocks.

There are many shock suppliers. I replaced the OEM shocks at 130K miles with the Monroe Reflex mainly due to the rebate at the time and the reviews on forums like this one. I am pleased with the Reflex thus far, they are a heavier duty shock that gives it a more firm ride. I am sure other brands of shocks suited for off-road will also work well for pulling a boat.

I also have Monroe Reflex on all 4 corners. They've been good. One of the dust shields broke on a rear shock but since they have a life time warranty, NAPA gave me a new shock for free. I blame the dust shield breaking more on the roads I drive on then the shock. Other than, they're good.

There's other shocks out there. Everyone will tell you what they have is the best but really nobody knows unless they've used every brand out there. I can only speak for the Reflex shock and tell you it's a quality shock.

I too have Monroe Reflex's. I like the ride. I do tow occasionally without any problems.

I tried KYB's, they didn't last long or ride as well.

Looking like only Reflex owners chiming in. Oh, we are only Reflex shock chiming! LOL

I only off-road a little, tow a little, haul heavy loads a little. Mostly highway and mounting driving and the Reflex does what I want. I'm a sporty cornering type of driver on the curves and set the cruise on 10% over speed limit. Love the ride and feel of the Reflex.

If I did more high-speed off-road on washboard surfaces, I may want a softer shock to glide across the surface.

My $.02
