FYI - the grey Permatex Gear Oil RTV really does take a long time to dry. It says 24 hours to dry, unless the temperature is cold - then longer. I put a dab of the stuff on some cardboard, and after 24 hours there was a good skin on it but it was still liquid inside. After 48 hours it was completely dry.
