Default Mpg of running in 2x4 vs 4x4?

If you ran the truck in 2wd or 4wd what would the mpg difference be?
We just got a huge blizzard and I've been driving in 4x4 most of the time.

Not a lot of difference as all the components still spin when driving.

I don't have a number for you, but the difference isn't going to be much, considering that the whole front drivetrain still spins when you're in 2WD. It's just disconnected at the transfer case.

*EDIT*
dodgeramguy85 beat me to it.

That's why I love me some manual locking hubs haha... Can't beat em. My Daks 2wd but the old Fords got em. They still put them in new fords too I think. Or it's an option.

I have manual hubs, and I still only get like 11 mpg.

Put it this way its not gonna make the dakota mpg any worse than it already is. I really doubt you will see any more than a 2mpg drop at most.

Lol I'm sure that number would be less if you didn't have manual hubs. All depends on your tires and gearing.
